There is some confusion between resignation and
letting go. Sometimes we give up on life; we resign
ourselves to the belief that there is no solution. We
resign ourselves to our circumstance, to our
situation, to our "fate".
We wish to point out that resignation is not letting
go, nor is it turning things over to our Higher
Power. What we resign ourselves to cannot be
healed.
Resignation basically says, "There is no solution
to this." We give up on there being a solution
rather than giving the situation up to our Higher
Power for the best solution to occur. We have
resignation confused with acceptance.
Acceptance states, "Whatever I turn over to my
Higher Power, there will always be a healing
solution."
Understand, resignation and letting go come from
the same place. It is a place that recognizes that
by ourselves we are powerless in this situation.
There the similarity ends. Resignation would go no
further. It would resign from Life and any solution.
Letting go would take the next step. It would
admit, "I am powerless here, so I will invite in my
Higher Power to heal and provide the best
solution so this situation may shift and release."
Resignation does not look for a solution; letting go
calls forth the real Healing and the real Release.
We have resigned ourselves to many things.
There is no healing in this. When we replace
letting go with resignation, there is an incredible
heaviness within us. When we let go to the
solution of our Higher Power, an amazing
lightness enlivens our being, for our inner wisdom
knows a miracle is about to occur.
Letting go, surrender, is not resignation. It is
time we recognize the difference so the real
healing can reawaken the Life within us.
