Occasionally in your life you will reach a place where you
feel, "What's the point? What's the point in anything?" So
strong will this barrier seem to be - so hopeless - that you
will not see any way around it. What's the point in changing
anything? Looking at anything? Saying anything? Seeing
anything? Feeling anything? What's the point in growing, sharing
or even living? This "point" is familiar to you. It is the depth
of despair, frustration, and hopelessness.
We would look at this point with you. It appears like the end
of
all answers, all change, all possibilities. It appears to be
an
end point where no healing may enter and no way out is seen.
It
seems like the black hole of spirituality to which there is no
answer. What's the point in even looking at this? This point
seems huge and overwhelming - the end point of no return. The
end of our very existence and meaning. A brick wall.
What we wish to show at this time is that "what's the point?"
is
just another "point" in the process of our journey. It is one
more
feeling we have not wanted to feel. "What's the point?" is simply
a
feeling and like any other feeling, once felt, can be released.
It is time to feel the entire desperation that comes when we reach
the "What's the point?" point. And when we feel this hopelessness,
we may ask to go beyond this feeling as well. It is not an end
point;
it is only one of many feelings we have never wanted truly to
feel.
It is simply one of many points we reach in our journey through
life.
By finally asking for the courage to feel this feeling, we may
go
beyond it. It isn't to figure out what the point is, for it is
the
feeling itself that needs to be released. It is the point of
feeling,
"What's the point?"
Rather than seeing, "What's the point?" as an end, we invite you
to
see it as another feeling, another point in our recovery. We
feel
it and go beyond it. We don't have to do anything with it, for
recovery, peace, encompasses all feelings, heals all feelings,
and
releases all feelings so the pure joy of Life may enter our hearts
once again.
