A lot of people say to us: "This way of looking at life is too
easy.
Life can't be that easy." To this we say: we are used to struggle
and conflict. We are taught that life is hard and difficult.
If it
doesn't hurt, we wonder if we are doing it right or if it is
doing
us any good.
We wish to make a distinction here. We are not trying to give
you
the easy way out. We are not trying to make things easy for you.
When people want something to be easy, they are really saying
that they
are looking for a way around a difficulty; they are looking for
a way
out of a situation. What we are really showing you is a way of
Ease.
Ease does not try to find a way out or around a difficulty -
Ease
shows us we may find a way through any conflict or difficulty.
We use the analogy of a river. The easy way out would be to stay
on
shore, never experiencing the flow of the river. The way of Ease
would enter the river, asking to experience Ease through whatever
currents or rapids that might occur. The old way would be to
go
down a river expecting hardship and danger. The way of Ease opens
to the support of the river and asks for the gift of safety to
allow the passage with Ease wherever the river is flowing.
To wish the easy way out is to miss the whole experience of living,
for it asks to go around life rather than be at the heart of
it. We
wish you Ease through your journey. May Ease by your experience
as
you enter the flow of life.
Inviting Ease to be with you is truly inviting God to be with
you,
for God is what sees us through anything with Ease.
