There are two things to consider with
this topic.
So often we try to keep a door closed
on the past.
Much of our energy goes into keeping
that door closed.
There is a difference between being
complete with the
past and being finished with the past.
Completion
allows an open door. We are complete
with the past
and do not expend any more energy fighting
its memories
or experiences. Focussing on being
finished with the
past involves a closed door that we
try to keep locked
at all times.
When we are complete with something,
we have said
whatever we have needed to say, felt
whatever we
have needed to feel, admitted whatever
we have
needed to admit, and released whatever
we have
needed to release.
The question to ask is simply: "What
do I need to
do to feel complete with the past?"
This will
allow healing with an open door rather
than
one we need to keep closed and barred.
Secondly, if our focus is letting go
of the past,
it becomes very difficult to see anything
but the
past because that is where our energy
is occupied.
Rather than letting go "of", what if
we focussed
on letting go "to". In other words,
what would we
like to let go "to" in our lives? Would
we like to
let go to more support, more abundance,
more love,
more connection with our being... Do
you see? -- the
focus is no longer on the past. It
is on where and
what we would like to experience.
If we try to get rid of the past by
closing the door
or focussing on letting go of it, most
of our energy
is still in the past. If we are willing
to complete
with the past, allowing energy to flow
wherever it
is appropriate for healing, and if
we focus on what
we would like to let go "to", a whole
new energy of
healing and release can come in to
support us.
For your consideration,
